Voted a “Best Glamping Experience in the U.S.” this Brownsville Resort Delivers Year Round Fun

Southwest of Brownsville, off of US 70 Highway, you’ll find Serendipity Resort and Campground — a wide and grassy haven offering a much-needed respite from everyday hassles. Couched on the rolling green grounds of a former golf course, Serendipity offers an array of recreational activities year-round.

Serendipity is a premier glamping destination, and has landed on Travel Awaits’ “Best Glamping Experiences in the US” for two years in a row. Visitors enjoy their stay in five furnished yurts that are spread out across the property, and the four stately A-frame cabins are irresistible as well. In addition, there are twelve campsites and seventy RV sites with full hook-ups.

Take a break from glamping and visit the nearby Serendipity Bar and Grill for dinner. They have a full bar and large menu, and you can sit on the deck with a tremendous view of Johnson Lake. The restaurant specializes in seafood, steak, and pasta, but you’ll want to come to try the deep-fried beer-battered cheese curds, a Wisconsin staple that co-owner Rob brought with him from his childhood growing up in Wisconsin. He’s been running Serendipity with his partner Daphne for the last three and a half years, and they’ll both be more than happy to welcome you to the site and answer all your questions.

Outdoors Galore

The resort also hosts an 18-hole disc golf course affiliated with the Professional Disc Golf Association, and it routinely hosts official PDGA events. Noted for its beauty and rigor, Serendipity’s course offers a variety of different challenges for players of all skill levels and includes a signature water hole that you won’t want to miss. Be ready to spend an hour or two on the course, which covers scenic rolling hills and jaunts into the woods.

Adventurers have a lot of activities to choose from on Serendipity's grounds, and many come included with the resort’s accommodations. These include swimming pools, a two-and-a-half acre pond, and water park with a sandy beach perfect for families, all open from 10:00 in the morning until dusk during the summer. The adjoining bathhouse offers six private showering facilities.

Fish for crappie, bass or bream on Johnson Lake, or rent a kayak at the boat house for a leisurely paddle on the water. There are plenty of trails for biking, hiking or just enjoying the natural beauty of this place. And, for those staying in West Tennessee for an extended time and looking for even more outdoor activities, Serendipity is close to other natural treasures including the Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge and Rockin’ Roll Hatchie Trails, as well as nearby Chickasaw State Park.

Serendipity Resort and Campground is a perfect getaway for a quick break or vacation during any season.

It’s no wonder visitors have come from as far away as Australia to enjoy this peaceful parcel in Brownsville’s backyard.
